At Energyminer we’re working on the energy transition: the first hydroelectric fleet is taking shape on the Rhine. As Embedded Software Developer, you’ll develop and maintain the software running on our embedded Linux devices, working at the boundary between hardware and application software. Our devices collect and process operational data from power plants to shape the future of renewables.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain software and containerized services on embedded Linux devices
- Define modular, reusable interfaces for sensors, controllers, and field instruments via protocols like CAN, Modbus, and Ethernet
- Support hardware bring-up, board integration, and system validation alongside the electrical and embedded teams
- Diagnose and fix problems across electronics, device communication, Linux, and application software
- Document technical decisions and troubleshooting procedures
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with Raspberry Pi-based Linux systems and/or STM32-based systems
- Practical programming experience in Python and C/C++
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and common tools like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Version control, code review, automated testing, and controlled releases are part of how you work
- A structured, hands-on mindset and a strong desire to learn
Nice to have:
- Industrial protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC UA, MQTT)
- Cybersecurity for connected systems
- Experience with industrial instrumentation or SCADA environments
